In one of the exhibits I have visited in Sacramento State, Kim Abeles Introduced her work towards her viewers. Kim Abeles is a mixed media artist who based her work towards a stop against pollution, a commonly known issue we faced within our world. Through her collection of artwork, she uses any leftover material as well as ashes of smog mixed over her experience and travels and uses them to make her own assemblages; these captured images, sculptures and other artworks she has made are meant to be a record she has engraved throughout that period in time. With the idea of pollution she uses the term smog within her artwork to represent the idea of what is going on within her work, and gives us an idea of what she conveys within her work, a footprint to be exact.       One Collection of artwork I had some interest in exploring her artwork would be the mapping and marking. Within this collection, she has made an assortment of photography and engravings within these compositions; th

Another artist that I have decided to look up is Eric Winkler, another comic book artist that was well recognized for his work in the Art 21 Website. During his project, his focus was to connect to people's real life situations with his work. Looking at his project felt like it was lifelike; this project had meaning to Eric Winkler, as well as his viewers that would also be well connected. This project did not have a particular name, but it was a series of animated comic art made by Eric Winkler that would describe the life of him and his friend as artists of the same interest. This friend of Winkler's was a friend named Bryan Zanisnik.      Bryan Zanisnik was also an artist as well, but his medium of focus was different compared to Eric's work; his work involves live performance art, along with props and other objects used to create this lifelike collage throughout Bryan's projects. Throughout Bryan's career, I noticed every once in a while, both of them wo

Erica Meryl Thomas, a designer and organizer, is seeking attention and has made her mark within her artwork. These artworks involve a social change within our world and other communities around her; the philosophy behind her work involves social skills, as well as experimental and optimistic opportunities. Her philosophies that relate to these include her connection to students' context, as well as ethical, social and political perspectives. Overall, all of these aspects would help her art connect to the real world.         One of her ideals further expanded through a point in time when she made a session with a local radio talk show called KBOO. This session involved talking to artists and asking them questions about their career in the future; these careers involve students that would eventually involve themselves into bigger projects that Erica has Involved herself within her work. KBOO and Erica also discussed with students how they as artists are able to bring their though

Chris Ware, born in Nebraska 1967, is a well known comic artist in his profession. For his graphic background within his art career, his work tells stories, as well as the character he makes within his own world. His purpose in creating these comic strips was to portray characters within their own scenarios, no matter what life he or she lived in within the stories Chris makes for them; the characters within each strip would represent a non-fictional story they would be in. A collection of comic strips Chris made was known as Building Stories. Within Building Stories, these comic book strips were found within books, newspapers, magazines, or any other forms of editorials you can find in bookstores or libraries. These Comic book strips would remind you of some of the comic strips we would see on a daily basis, such as the Garfield comic strips we'd be used to seeing in newspapers.      What also stood out within his work is that each of the scenes and characters Chris Ware ha

Pierre Huyghe, an artist born in 1962 in Paris, is a mixed media artists who has made his art either  from film, electronic arts, or both mediums. Most of his work revolves around the subjective ideas of how we view the world around the artwork, and how this so called world was created. Most of his success came from an exhibition in Paris. He has a collection of art that depicts different experiences for each art. Depending on what artwork we can look at made by Pierre, each of these have a different point of view.            1:40     Anlee (July 24, 2008), Was a video art created by Pierre Huyghes. This character was also purchased and bought for copyright; it was given to other artists as a form of collaboration for the character. The purpose of using the character was to create different worlds for the subject, as well as different meanings behind the character. Audience that would also look into different personas that this character can play within the art as well. As mention
